Above Sea Level (2019) / Ilha Terceira, Portugal / forthcoming / 20 minutes

Somewhere atop the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the world’s largest mountain range, and between the Azorean islands of Terceira and São Miguel, some claimed that there used to be an island, until the sea got the better of it. Incorporating legend, scientific reporting and the ethnographies of the occupants of the nearest island, the film explores the potential energy of the earth and the precarious nature of human existence at the mercy of their geographies.
